The Reese Piece and Chocolate-Chip Treat Cookies

Reese's Pieces and Chocolate Chip Cookies

Recipe:

2 1/4 c. unbleached flour
1 t. baking soda
1 t. salt
1 c. unsalted butter (2 sticks)
3/4 c. light brown sugar (fat and packed)
1/2 c. white sugar
1 t. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 c. reese piece chips (you get these in the baking aisle, they look like chocolate chips but are reese's.)
1 c. Hershey's special dark chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. My oven runs hot so I do it at about 360.
Blend ingredients in order of recipe listing. Melt the butter, be sure not to burn it; when melting butter I like to scrape off the fat layer that forms on top of the butter before pouring it into the cookie mix.  The nicer the butter, the less fat you have.
After mixing all ingredients, a nice touch is to have a bowl of sugar (I prefer raw cane sugar) set to the side.  When rolling the dough into tablespoons size rounds, roll or sprinkle a bit of sugar on top of the cooke for a nice touch.  It also makes the cookie have a crispier outside, and chewier, more delicious inside.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.  let cool... and enjoy!

These cookies make the men go CRAZY! or extremely happy.  Same difference I believe.

the "something cool" quarium {post 1}

20 gallon salt-water aquarium... bad ass!
Luke's christmas gift became the Fun-House's gift and house pet.  This tank has three large saltwater rocks, four soft coral pieces, a tiny neon purple fish, a clown fish, a ninja fish (the first fish aquired), a cleaner shrimp, a fire shrimp (or jaques the lobster), and some Maria Santoria hermits to keep the place clean.  And last but not least a bubble tip anemone (the enemy) that seems to be the talk of the tank as we are all rooting for the lil urchin dude to stay alive and well and grow so this social butterfly of a clown fish can host the thing.

The neon fish is swimming over this "enemy" anemone... it's on the move so we'll see what happens.

just a little petting.  or cleaning.

he loves this rock.  Jaques and the neon fish are friends so they meet under this rock and Jaques cleans him.  Pretty funny.
